1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for the parts of Tami's data processing described in this policy is:
Thomas Roth
Hitzendorf 9
8151 Hitzendorf
Austria
Email: support@tami-cycle.com
2. Scope
This policy applies to the Tami menstrual cycle companion app, the tami-cycle.com website, and privacy or support communications sent to us.
3. Information used by Tami
3.1 Information stored only on your device
Tami processes the following information locally to provide its features:
- the first day of a period and corrections to period start or end dates;
- cycle-length and period-length settings and calculated averages;
- estimated cycle phases, period windows, and fertile windows;
- optional symptom logs, such as cramps, headache, bloating, mood, low energy, and cravings;
- optional intimacy logs;
- app preferences, onboarding status, trial or entitlement status, and locally stored app state; and
- a limited local action history used to support app reliability and troubleshoot behavior.
This information is not transmitted to Tami servers in the current local-first design. Tami has no backend account containing your cycle history.
3.2 Purchases and subscriptions
If you start a trial or buy a subscription, Google Play processes the transaction under its own terms and privacy policy. Tami does not receive your full card or bank details. The app may receive or store the product purchased, subscription status, entitlement status, purchase token, purchase and expiry dates, and information needed to restore access or prevent fraud.
3.3 Support communications
If you contact support@tami-cycle.com, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, attachments, device model, operating-system version, and app version. Please do not send cycle history, health information, or intimacy information unless it is necessary for your request.
3.4 Diagnostics and platform information
Tami does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. Google, your device manufacturer, or your operating system may nevertheless process store, installation, crash, performance, or device information according to your device settings and their own privacy policies. This policy and the relevant store declarations will be updated before any additional analytics or diagnostic service is enabled.
3.5 Website hosting and visitor statistics
The tami-cycle.com website is hosted by IONOS SE. When a page or file is requested, IONOS processes technical access information needed to deliver, secure, and optimize the website. According to IONOS's web-hosting privacy information, this includes the referring page, requested page or file, browser type and version, operating system, device type, access time, and an IP address that is anonymized when collected.
The website itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not use third-party advertising pixels. IONOS SiteAnalytics uses log files or a pixel without cookies for statistical evaluation and technical optimization. IONOS states that web-hosting visitor data is retained for eight weeks, is not passed to third parties, and is not transferred outside the EU.
4. Purposes and legal bases
| Processing | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| On-device cycle, symptom, and intimacy information | Provide tracking, estimates, local insights, corrections, and app functionality requested by you. | Performance of the app service you request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Where health or sex-life data falls within Article 9 GDPR and Tami determines its processing, explicit consent must be obtained before the relevant optional feature is enabled (Article 9(2)(a)). |
| Subscription and entitlement information | Start or restore a trial, unlock paid access, maintain entitlement, prevent fraud, and meet accounting obligations. | Contract (Article 6(1)(b)); legal obligation where applicable (Article 6(1)(c)); legitimate interests in security and fraud prevention (Article 6(1)(f)). |
| Support communications | Answer requests, investigate bugs, protect the service, and document resolutions. | Contract or steps requested by you (Article 6(1)(b)); legitimate interests in support and security (Article 6(1)(f)); legal obligation where applicable (Article 6(1)(c)). |
| Website access and anonymized visitor statistics | Deliver, secure, stabilize, statistically evaluate, and technically optimize tami-cycle.com. | Legitimate interests in providing a secure, reliable, and useful website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). |
You can stop using optional symptom or intimacy features and remove locally stored entries at any time. If explicit consent is required for a production feature, the app will provide a clear way to withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. Who receives information
Tami does not sell personal data, does not share cycle data with advertisers or data brokers, and does not use cycle data for targeted advertising. Depending on how you use the app, the following parties may process limited information:
- Google Play, for app distribution, trials, subscriptions, payments, refunds, and purchase restoration;
- our email provider, when you contact support;
- IONOS SE, as the hosting provider for tami-cycle.com and its log-based, cookie-free SiteAnalytics;
- professional advisers or authorities, only where reasonably necessary to establish or defend legal claims or comply with law; and
- platform and device providers, for system-level diagnostics or backups that you enable.
6. International transfers
Google, the provider operating the support mailbox, or another platform provider may process limited information outside the European Economic Area under its own privacy terms and legally recognized transfer safeguards. Your locally stored cycle data is not transferred to Tami.
7. How long information is kept
- On-device app data: until you delete entries, use "Delete all app data," clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app, subject to device or operating-system backups.
- Purchase and entitlement information: for as long as needed to provide paid access, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and meet legal or accounting requirements. App stores apply their own retention periods.
- Support messages: normally for up to 24 months after the request is closed, unless a longer period is needed for an active dispute, security incident, or legal obligation.
- Website visitor data: IONOS states that web-hosting visitor data is stored for eight weeks.
8. Device backups and deletion
Your phone may include app data in a device or cloud backup. Those backups are controlled by you and your platform provider, not by Tami. Deleting data in Tami may not immediately delete older copies stored in a device backup. Review your iCloud, Google, or device-backup settings if you do not want local Tami data included in backups.
You can erase Tami's local data using "Delete all app data" in Settings. Uninstalling the app normally removes its active local storage, although restoration from a backup may restore it. Because Tami does not hold a server copy of your cycle history, we generally cannot retrieve it for you or remotely delete it.
9. Security
Tami limits risk by keeping sensitive cycle information on your device and avoiding advertising or analytics trackers. The security of local data also depends on your device. Use a device passcode, install operating-system updates, and protect access to your backups. No storage method can guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location and the processing involved, you may have rights to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, as well as the right not to be subject to certain solely automated decisions. Much of Tami's cycle data can be viewed, corrected, or deleted directly in the app because it is held only on your device.
To exercise a right relating to information held by us, email support@tami-cycle.com. We may need enough information to understand and verify your request, but we will not ask you to send unnecessary cycle or health data.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, Austria, or with the supervisory authority in the EU/EEA country where you live or work.
11. Estimates and automated processing
Tami automatically calculates cycle averages, estimated period windows, estimated fertile windows, and symptom patterns from information stored on your device. These outputs are estimates for personal tracking. They do not produce legal or similarly significant effects, are not a medical diagnosis, and must not be used as contraception.
12. Children and minimum age
Tami is intended only for adults aged 18 years or older and is not directed to children. The production onboarding and app-store audience settings will reflect this restriction. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information to us through support, contact us so we can assess and delete it where appropriate.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Tami's features, service providers, legal obligations, or data practices change. We will post the updated version at tami-cycle.com and change the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how sensitive data is processed, we will provide an appropriate in-app notice or request consent where required.
14. Contact
Privacy and support questions can be sent to support@tami-cycle.com.
